How to integrate your domain / subdomain to Kites

In Kites, you have two fantastic options to customize your Kite’s links. The first option is to add your very own domain to Kites, and the second option is to use a Kites subdomain. Today, we'll guide you through the process of adding your own domain to Kites. This is an excellent choice if you already own a website. With your custom domain, you can create Kites with links that reflect your brand and identity.

Accessing the domain setup zone in your dashboard is easy. Let's explore both ways:

The first one is through your dashboard's profile options. Simply select 'Domains' from the menu.

The second one is even more straightforward. You can access it directly from a Kite. Just go to 'Link' and choose 'Add / Edit Domain.'

Regardless of your starting point, a slider titled "Domains" will appear with the two choices mentioned before: "Add your own domain" or "Use a Kites subdomain."

When registering your own domain:

You can opt for your domain or subdomain. Take your time to read carefully and choose the best option for you. No matter your choice, follow these five simple steps.

• Step 1: Select your domain/subdomain (depending on what you chose).
• Step 2: Log into your domain provider's website. This is the company from whom you purchased your domain (like GoDaddy, Google Domains, or another provider). For example, we'll show the process using our GoDaddy account.
• Step 3: Locate your domain settings page within your provider's site and access it.
• Step 4: Find and access your DNS records.
• Step 5: Add the indicated DNS records provided by Kites, including type, record name, and record value. Double-check for accuracy.

Remember, it's important to double-check the accuracy of the records you've added. After this, click the blue 'Validate' button.

Voila! Your domain setup process is now in progress.

Please keep in mind that the validation process might take up to 48 hours. Once it's completed, your domain will be ready to use in your Kite links!
